So not surprised about who commented first!
Scott is partly Cyborg! Don't I talk to you all enough?
This will be fun!
Darn, I am going to miss the morning fun... I have a pre-observation with the principal here at 45 this AM. But this board is a great idea, I'll now be able to stay in the loop :D
Sara
Scott was on first because I emailed him to let him know I could not get on because buffaloschools.org could not blog and he needed to change the settings
Seems interesting to be having this chat, as like SG said - do we know what to expect from the state? How do we plan for the creation of a building when we're given nothing from the architect...?
I think this math break out sessions proving the point that we need to have a focus group of ITC's to work with the staff developers to flush out the digital resources within the different programs. This focus group can work out all the kinks that need to be addressed. This would make deploying these resources much more efficient.
Can't wait to hear from the group on enhancement for the LTG grant next year.
So glad you volunteered Joe! ITCs please email Joe if you would like to be part of the initial Math Cadre of ITCs.
Thanks to Frank and Paul for an awesome snapshot of a Math class in action! The Nspire/Navigator system is an incredible teaching tool. It almost makes me want to take high school math classes again...
It seems to me that this is simply GIVING students answers, not making them think about the underlying concepts...

If you want to be part of the planning process for next year, please send me an email regarding that.
Planning for next year is coming up quite a bit today. This is something we can make happen!
- training in math programs (email Joe)
- preparation for technical support of math programs (email Eric)
- logistical planning for LTG (venues & trainers) who owns this?
- planning for promoting/advertising LTG for next year (Heather?)
- planning for a more interactive website/wiki for LTG (Leslie?)
I would like to be involved in the LGT grant in some capacity.
Joe, I would would like to be on an elementary Math team!
adding the question of user managemnt data(?) what amount of the paricipants are actively using the netbooks?
It's always a good idea to start with a pilot. You have many teachers who are early adopters and could start wtih one or two classes, assign an ITC to work with them, and see how it goes.
Sorry, Ike. I forgot I was signed in as you! Laurie
Check out iTunes U for content. What was developed for iPod Touch will work on iPad.
So Imagine Bill spending his lunch break determining the combination of the lock on the table in Room 109.
And then ropes in others!
I wholeheartedly agree we must put forth an effort to push the digital citizenship agenda forward. As we gather the group to do planning for next year, let's make that a priority.
Great day - Looking forward to Kathy Schroeck
Can't wait to hear from the group on enhancement for the LTG grant next year.
